Southern Plains Medical Group to open clinics in Pauls Valley

Southern Plains Medical Group is looking to lease a portion of the Pauls Valley General Hospital in order to establish a medical clinic in Pauls Valley.
According to PV City Manager James Frizell, Southern Plains will primarily us the first floor of the hospital for emergency and lab services.
Frizell said the group will not open the second floor of the hospital, which houses patient rooms.
The News Star attempted to speak to Len Lacefield, CEO of Southern Plains, but he has not returned our phone call.
However, Lacefield recently told the Journal Record that his group would be hiring some of the former hospitals’ physicians and staff.
The Pauls Valley clinic be able to offer extended-hour care, some laboratory services and radiology, but the company plans to expand those services throughout 2019, Lacefield told the Journal Record.
Pauls Valley General Hospital was shut down back in October by the PV Hospital Authority due an ongoing financial crisis at the hospital.
Southern Plains Medical Group operates clinics across several states, including several locations in Oklahoma.
