Rural Water District to apply for CDBG grant

A Garvin County rural water district received the go ahead for a CDBG grant application Monday.

If the grant is approved, Rural Water District #6 will use the funds for an aeration system and other improvements to the water lines and tanks in the district.

The grant will be for $250,000 with the rural water district matching $65,001 of the grant and the CDBG funds providing $159,999 of the grant.

The district comprises of 841 square miles and includes the Stratford, Wynnewood and Elmore City areas.
