Inmates

transferred to Department Of Corrections

Garvin County Sheriff’s Deputies transported twelve inmates to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections from the Garvin County Detention Center.  The transfers to State prison occurred during the months of March, 2019.

These inmates are Barbara Strickland-Turner, age 36, Davis; Rashaad Watson, age 18, Davis; Randall Henry, age 55, Ardmore;  Chad Robinson, age 45, Oklahoma City; James Qualls, age 61, Maysville; Angela Zeller; age 41, Pauls Valley;  Katie Popejoy, age 39, Pauls Valley; Richard Harold Hines, age 47, Lindsay; Dakota Meave, age 24, Pauls Valley; Andrew “A.J.” Young, age 23, Pauls Valley; Matthew Harris, age 34, Norman; and Kenneth Engles, age 33, Lindsay.

Barbara Strickland-Turner and Rashaad Watson are beginning sentences in their involvement in an August 2018 robbery at a residence in Katie.

Strickland-Turner and Watson have entered pleas of guilty for the crime. Strickland-Turner and Watson are two of five persons who were arrested for the early morning home invasion.

On August 27, 2018, Charles Tyler Foster was arrested by Garvin County Sheriff’s Deputies for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The firearm Foster had was submitted to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation where a ballistics examination linked the 9mm handgun to a bullet recovered by the Garvin County Sheriff’s Office at the robbery scene.

There is no evidence placing Foster at the scene of the robbery.  Foster is awaiting a June court date.
