Pauls Valley man killed by train

A Pauls Valley man was struck and killed by a train approximately four miles south of Pauls Valley just before 4 a.m. on May 29.
Joshua A. Lorenz, 35, of Pauls Valley, was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries by Pauls Valley Fire Department personnel.
Reports say a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train, hauling 98 cars, was traveling northbound when it struck Lorenz, who was standing in the middle of the tracks facing the train.
The train engineer and conductor were not injured. The official cause of the accident was listed as pedestrian action.
The collision was investigated by Trooper Chris Earnhart of the Murray/Garvin County Detachment of Troop F, assisted by Lt. Bryant Harris of Troop F, Garvin County Sheriff’s Office, Pauls Valley Fire Department and Wynnewood Police Department.
