The Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce is going tropical to celebrate the community and it’s accomplishments by making its annual banquet a Hawaiian Luau.
Tuesday, April 17 is the day the island themed event is scheduled to take place at the Bosa Center in Pauls Valley, where attendees can expect a night of awards and mingling.
“We award the Corporate Citizen of the Year and the Citizen of the Year awards that night, as well as my Lifesaver award,” said Sherri Wing, Pauls Valley Chamber President.
Corporate Citizen and Citizen of the Year are chosen by a Board of previous winners, though anyone can nominate someone for the honor.
Last year’s winner for Corporate Citizen was Seth Wadley Ford and for Citizen was James Lenk.
Luau goers will also hear from outgoing Chamber Chair Lenk and incoming Chamber Chair Jaclyn Hull.
“It’s really a night about celebrating everything the community has achieved,” said Wing.
There will also be a silent and live auction of varying items. Past donations have included golf course memberships, rec center memberships, and gift baskets with assorted items.
Wing did say tickets from a sold out concert in Dallas have been acquired for the auction.
“I’m not going to say who it is though. I want it to be a surprise,” said Wing of the mysterious auction item.
Donations are currently being sought for auction items. Those interested in donating can contact the Chamber.
Corporate Citizen and Citizen of the Year forms are available at the Chamber office. Nominations will be accepted through Thursday, March 15th.
