POSTED JULY 19, 2019
The 104th Garvin County Fair is set for August 20-24, 2019 and organizers are busy preparing for another great year.
The official 2019 Garvin County Free Fair Guide is available with entry information. Copies are currently available at the OSU Extension office, 201 W. Grant Ave., Rm 7, Pauls Valley and will soon be found in businesses throughout the county. It may also be accessed via the Garvin County Fair pages found online at www.oces.okstate.edu/garvin.
The fair kicks off with open, OHCE and 4-H indoor entries accepted on Tuesday, August 20. To save time, exhibitors may also submit entry forms no later than August 13 and have entry forms printed for them.
Children’s Day activities will take place August 22 and 23, featuring hands-on programs, games, demonstrations, a petting zoo, OSU’s Bug Adventure, OKC Zoo animals and more. Children will be fed lunch again this year.
The 2nd Annual Wiener Dog Races will be held Saturday, August 24. Last year’s winners will be back to defend their titles, as will Corn Hole Tournament hopefuls.
The Kiddie Tractor Pull and Best Dressed Pet Contest will also be a part of this year’s events, and new fair royalty will be introduced.
New this year are The Greatest Hen Race, Barnyard Shenigians, turtle races, and an egg show. Find out more about these contests and more by picking up a guide or visiting the web pages.
Food vendors are in place, but there is still space available for non-food vendors. Those wishing to showcase their products may choose one or more days: Thursday, August 22, Friday, August 23, and/or Saturday, August 24. Vendors who choose 2 or more days will receive a discount.
The remaining indoor space with air conditioning is limited (especially those with electrical access) so organizers urge those interested to apply as soon as possible.
Pick up a guide and visit the County Fair web pages for all the information needed to make sure you do not miss anything offered at this year’s fair.
