Fatality collision claims life of Wynnewood man

A fatality collision occurred October 11, 2019 at approximately 8:18 a.m. on I-35 near the 104.5 mile marker northbound in the City of Goldsby, Okla.

The 2003 Ford F150 pickup driven by Steven J. Lewis, age 62, of Wynnewood, was northbound in the outside lane of I-35 when it departed the road to the right for an unknown reason.

The vehicle then over-corrected to the left and overturned two and one-half times coming to rest on its top. Lewis was partially ejected through the sunroof.

Lewis died at the scene due to severe head, arm, leg, trunk internal and trunk external injuries.

Seatbelts were not in use. Cause of collision is pending investigation.

The collision was investigated by Trooper John Anderson #212 of the McClain County Detachment of Troop A assisted by Trooper Chris Hanover #505 of Troop A, McClain County Sheriff’s Office, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, Goldsby Fire Department, and EMSSTAT.
