EC-P Bond Proposals goes to the voters Tuesday


Voters in Elmore City will go to the polls this Tuesday, September 10, to decide the fate of two bond propsals from the EC-P school district.

The new twelve-room high school with science lab, STEM technology additions, and the elementary safety improvements will all be part of Proposition One. Approval of Proposition One will have a projected tax increase of 5%. ($8,170,000 in projects with total financing included.)

Passage of Proposition Two will provide significant upgrades and improvements for ECP students in a number of extracurricular areas (Ag, band, and athletics.) Approval of this measure will allow the district to construct a new gymnasium for basketball, band concerts,school assemblies and graduation ceremonies; make improvements at the football field with a new concession stand; new public restrooms, locker rooms, a weight room, and additional A.D.A. compliant seating for local fans; make improvements within the Ag show barn and shop; and purchase many needed band instruments. 

Approval of Proposition Two will have a projected tax increase of 8.5%. ($11,315,000 in projects with total financing included.)

Both propositions together would add an additional $13.50 for every $100 property owners paid for their 2019 property tax. Superintendent Jennifer Cruz stated, “The intent of this historic bond is a vision for our future and an investment in our community. This is not only for today’s students, but it is also for future generations of Badgers and for the continued growth of our community.”
