The Elmore City-Pernell School Board will begin a search for a new superintendent of schools after Jennifer Cruz submitted her resignation earlier this week.

“I have accepted a position back in Enid as their head high school principal.  The decision to move back to Enid was not easily made, but as many of you know my husband and I have lived apart for most of the last three years,” Cruz said in her letter of resignation.

Cruz said her three years as EC-P Superintendent was “filled with 20 years of experience because of all that we have gone through.”

“Please know that in every decision made, I did what I thought was best for students and for the district, and I would do it all over again.”

Cruz requested her last day to be June 30.

“I know the board will find an excellent replacement and they will continue to lead the district in a direction that will grow ECP and make it the Best It Can Be!”
