Two Garvin County rural fire departments were give the green light Monday to purchase new fire fighting equipment.
The Garvin County Commissioners approved the purchase of a new brush truck for the Rush Creek Fire Department.
The cost of the truck will be between $40,000 and $42,000, according to Garvin County Emergency Management Director Bud Ramming.
Funds from the department’s allotment of the county fire fighting tax will be used to purchase the truck.
“They have more than enough in their account to make the purchase,” Ramming told the commissioners during their regular weekly meeting.
The commissioners also approved the purchase of some new digital radio equipment for the Hennepin Fire Department.
The equipment will be purchased through Hennepin’s fire tax account and will cost $9,328.00.
