Maysville Mayor Earl Morton and Town Board member David Uhles suspended Maysville Police Chief Matthew Perry with pay Wednesday night.
According to Town Clerk Sandra Albright, Morton and Uhles were advised by City Attorney Tyler Perryman they could suspend the police chief without a meeting of the town board as long as it was with pay.
Albright said she didn’t know why Perry was suspended, but that Morton and Uhles were looking into some allegations concerning Perry.
Albright said to suspend any employee of the town without pay would require a vote of the town board.
The News Star has attempted to reach Morton and Perryman for a comment and they have not responded to our voice mails.
